News on November 24, Beijing time, Samsung may sell LCD manufacturing equipment to BOE and Huaxing Optoelectronics. As TV panel prices enter a downward cycle, Samsung Display's (SDS) long-delayed LCD production plan is finally on the agenda. It is said that it plans to sell some of its production line equipment to China's BOE and Huaxing Optoelectronics.


According to the "Korean Business Daily" report, SDC replaced the LCD TV panel production line with a 6G OLED (1500 x 1850mm) production line at its L7-2 factory, and removed part of the large-size LCD panel equipment from the L8-1 factory. The space is used to accommodate the QD-OLED TV panel production line with a monthly output of 30,000 glass substrates.

According to the report, L8-1's QD-OLED panel production capacity is equivalent to 1 million 55-inch and 65-inch QD-OLED TVs per year. SDC plans to sell these LCD panel production equipment to BOE or Huaxing Optoelectronics, the latter two are currently the world's largest Manufacturer of LCD panels.
